Killer Apps for Your Next Exhibition / Trade Show

Now-a-days Technology and Business go side by side. One of the wonders of Technology today that is benefiting the business users tremendously is "Smart Phones".IDC expect total smartphone sales in 2011 to reach 472 million across the globe, rising to 982 million in 2015. Such an exponential growth is pretty obvious if we look into the benefits of these Smart Phones. The major reason behind the success of Smart Phones are the "Apps". Apps are mobile applications that can be downloaded and run on smartphones such as the iPhone, BlackBerry or Google Android. Some sources estimate there are over 300,000 apps available on the iTunes directory alone.

In today's blog, I am gonna share some of the Apps available for the Exhibitions/Trade shows.

Follow Me:
If you are heading to one of the various tradeshows around the globe, either as an exhibitor or visitor, you might want to check out this app. Designed specifically for the tradeshow industry, it features real-time show alerts and interactive floor maps. A user can schedule tradeshow information while travelling to the show or download it to the phone for later reference. Exhibitor information can also be downloaded to prevent a user from having to carry marketing materials and brochures around the show.

Showguide:
Lets users go paperless, allowing a conference or tradeshow organiser to increase its ‘green’ credentials. This app allows an organiser to upload venue maps, course work, session papers and exhibitor pamphlets, which can be downloaded.

Business Card Reader:
Allows users to take a photo of a new business card handed to you on the spot to store digitally. The text recognition software built into the app will import your contact’s details into your address book. A built-in browser allows users to import LinkedIn profile details as well.

Ustream Live Broadcaster:
This live interactive broadcasting platform can be used to run live demonstrations and press announcements via the app, which can then be watched by those onsite and offsite. It allows you to share the presentations on Twitter and Facebook social networks as well

iLead:
Claims to be the world’s first lead retrieval app. It enables exhibitors to collect tradeshow leads and includes features such as notes, surveys and qualifiers exhibitors.

Square:
For those that take payments at tradeshows, Square is a free payment system app that sends a geo-tagged receipt to the customer in real-time after the transaction is complete. It accepts all major credit cards on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with no contract, monthly fees or merchant account required. Once you sign up, the user receives a free Square credit card reader in the mail and it meets all industry-standard security practices to ensure safety for the user and customer.

Gorilla Expense:
Is a combination of the online Gorilla Expense system and a mobile application. When you pay for an expensable item while travelling, take a photo of the receipt, edit a few details about the expense and it will be added to your account for later when you are in the office or on a computer. The service can also be customised to automate the reporting process, restrict expenses that infringe the company’s policy and handle foreign currencies. It costs US$10-50 per person, depending on how many employees from the same company buy the software.

Expensify:
Is an Android app which allows users to import receipts directly from their credit card, converting it into a sendable PDF report. A business traveller can also log mileage, upload photos of receipts like Gorilla Expense and add cash expenses while on-the-go. It allows a user to link a card or bank account so they can track spending.

EventGenie:
Is a customised app for organisers, which provides a secure programme for messaging and a personalised agenda by highlighting certain sessions for delegates. From an organiser’s perspective, it also allows visitor behaviour analysis enabling them to maximise event revenue. The My Event tool allows delegates to record notes, voice memos, photos and videos as well as download exhibitor brochures and speaker slides. Tickets or passes for events can be issued electronically through this app which also offers delegates the option to scan in business cards. It also has multi-lingual support.

5 Easy Ways to Make Your Exhibiting Successful !!

5 Easy Ways to Make Your Exhibiting Successful !

Today savvy companies are finding out unique, innovative yet effective ways to reach out their customers. It’s time to go DIRECT with your customers, eliminating the intermediaries as much possible. In order to keep your space good in the market pie, you have to be very careful and have to keep your ears to the ground all the time to hit the right note.
One very effective way for meeting your target audience is "Exhibiting". If you want to interact with your target audience without wasting your resources on irrelevant people, Exhibiting is the answer to it. Through exhibitions you not only meet your customers and prospects but you also get a 100% chance to do some hand on research on your competitors and other important stakeholders of your industry.
Excited about Exhibitions and the advantages associated? But hold on, achieving this all is not as EASY as it may sound. I am going to share some of the key factors that are helpful in making your exhibiting experience smooth and ultimately successful.

Planning and Organizing:
The key to success for ANY thing you do in life is to PLAN and organize yourself accordingly. Same goes for Exhibiting. Before you think of participating in next exhibition you have to ask following important questions to yourself and of course the relevant departments;
·         What is your purpose of participating?
o   Whether you want to launch a new product? Collection of the database? Products display? Or any other. Because the impact of your exhibition stand and its presence is highly dependent upon the purpose associated.
·         How participation in exhibition does fit in to our corporate strategies and goals?
·         Who is your target audience?
·         How much budget do you have?
·         Cost and Benefit analysis?
·         Venue of exhibition and reputation of organizer
And at last but not the least an EFFECTIVE EXHIBITION CHECKLIST. No matter whatever you are planning to do ,whenever you have to be organized ,the number one thing to do  is CHECKLIST PREPARATION with proper time-lines assigned to every task

Exhibition Stand Design:
Once you have proper answer to the above mentioned questions, here comes the time when you have to work on your exhibition stand design and its ultimate impact. In order to achieve your all objectives associated with your participation it is very much mandatory to make sure that your exhibition-stand is 100% in accordance to your objectives. Another important aspect is to decide whether to build the stand in-house or outsource the service. If you don’t have the expertise, it is better to outsource your exhibition stand build. Don’t forget to do prior research on exhibition and stand builders in the industry. Your exhibition stand is just like a living brochure, a direct point of contact with your target audience and of course there is no chance of committing a single mistake. Please, contact Nexus54 Exhibition Division to provide you with FREE DESIGN for your next Exhibition

Pre-event Marketing:
One of the fatal mistakes any exhibitioner can ever do is not to promote your participation before the event.  So, this task should be in top of your checklist to market your event effectively. Following ways can be used to effectively promoting the event;

Press Release:
Compose a good press release and send it to regional media. This will create awareness in public regarding your participation.  Make sure that your press release consists of all the relevant information like date, time, venue, features of the event and your stand number.

Direct Mail:
Instead of sending mails to everybody in your contact, send direct mail to your prestigious clients and invite them to attend your event. Don’t forget to mention every detail of your event in the mail.

Social Media:
Today almost every business on earth is using social media platform. Prior to your event keep updated your fans and followers regarding your participation. Coordinate with them at every step, facilitate them that how they can register themselves to the event and make their participation effective.

The Impact:
No matter, how you work hard and effective on your stand design and marketing of the event , if on the spot presentation isn’t effective 80% of your efforts would be in vain.  Moreover, if the Human resource present on the stand isn’t working according to the objectives of the stand then things would go in the wrong direction. Therefore, make sure that you are having effective on the spot presentation with respect to the human resource on the stand, give aways, reading materials like brochures, booklets, etc for the visitors.
Another important on the spot activity is NETWORKING. Don’t forget to exchange business cards with the visitors and participants of the event. It will help you out in the long run.

Post-Event Activities:
Many exhibitioners think once you have successful impact, the job is done. But the reality is bit different. It is very important and productive as well, to conduct post-event activities to make your customer relationship strong and strengthen the overall objective of your participation. One effective thing to do after the event is to send a "thank you" email to all those who visited your stand.
In order to know how your efforts have impacted, you can also conduct a research by sending questionnaires to the visitors.

These are the few things by following in your own required way can make your Exhibition Participation a SUCCESS !!

Effective Telemarketing is Integral Part of Your BTL Marketing Plan !

If Telemarketing is part of your marketing plan then you can't neglect the importance of its role. Like any other Below the Line (BTL) marketing activity , telemarketing can also make your whole campaign a SUPER DUPER HIT.

The same article is also helpful for novice telephone callers in corporate world, who don’t have any prior experience may find these points helpful for them in order to enhance their calling skills. It’s not mandatory that all of these points are applicable to any person at a same time.

Have Maximum Knowledge of Your Agenda & Write it Down in Bullet-Form:
Whenever you pick up the phone, make sure you have complete knowledge of whatever you’re going to talk about. Never rely on improvisation. Improvisation requires hell lot of practice, so don’t try it at initial level, it can be disastrous. The right practice is to talk to your immediate boss or a person who has the right knowledge, probe each and every point to make everything clear to yourself in order to make it clear to the person on the line.
Before making important calls, write down all the important points in bullet form and put it right in front  of you.  While noting down, it is better if you use appropriate words that you also want to use during your call. It makes you more organize and presentable on the phone.
Another important thing is, the selection of your words MUST BE according to the person you are going to talk to. It creates a comfortable environment for the other person and he/she will talk to you at ease.

Feel What you’re Saying with a Smile on Your Face:
Telephone speaking, where your body language i.e; your gestures & postures are not visible, is something that requires a lot of practice to be effective. In order to do so you must feel the intensity of your WORDS. You must pretend as if you REALLY mean whatever you are saying. I am using the word PRETEND here because usually novice professionals have lots of inhibitions that they don’t actually feel what they do. So the key is “fake it till you make it..”. This principle is applicable to other areas of your job as well.
Other important thing here is SMILE. Consider it mandatory to put a smile on your face while delivering your opening statement. For instance, usually when on call we say , “ How are you Mr. ABC?” while saying this you must have a glowing smile on your face because whenever you change your facial muscles in this way, it automatically shows up in your tone (pick up the phone, call your friend and test it ) . So, delivering words according to respective emotion or feel is VERY VERY important on telephone especially. You can also draw a smiley and stick it on a wall before you. You must look at it while making calls.

Have Clear, Crisp and Sharp Tone:
Another important point to keep in mind is that you must practice to have clear and complete words when you speak. Such a delivery of words actually shows your confidence. Speaking with a whining tone, incomplete words, very low voice or mumbling, they all give very negative impact whether you are talking face to face or on telephone. So, be concrete, crisp and confident.
This can be done by concentrating on each and every word you say. Usually novice speaker feel loss of words from mind and as a result of which u lose the concreteness, crispiness and ultimately confidence also diminishes. It happens because of lack of concentration. You may lose your concentration because of making answers before hand, anticipating the next argument of other person, because of your mind wandering around entirely irrelevant matters, hesitation of somebody’s presence or something else like low energy, empty stomach, uncomfortable seating environment,  there is a long a list of things to divert you from the focal point (by the way, for Effective Office Interior, just drop an email to us ;) ).
To avoid this all, I suggest concentrating on each and every word you say. Put all of your focus on your speech. That really helps to prevent distraction, make your voice sounds like focused and confident. Try it TODAY!!

Record Your Voice and Listen it Critically:
Record your voice maybe in your cell phone or where ever possible. Listen it, evaluate it, analyze the flaws, consider your speed, your pronunciation, crispiness, and emotions and most importantly feel how it sounds like? Does it sound they way it should sound? Note all of the points.
Next time you record your voice, compare it with the previous notes you made and work on the flaws. Listen to the experts, practice the way they talk.

Keep Record of Your Learning:
The most important thing to do is to write down in your note book every time you learn anything new during your calls. Whenever you make a mistake during a call sessions discuss it with somebody you trust and who has good knowledge and skills. Open up your diary after every week or so and evaluate your own performance.

At last but not the least, you can’t become master of your field over night. It requires a lot of practice. You will definitely make lots of mistakes during these initial days of your career (if you are newbie) but make sure to never consider these mistakes as negative these are your learning, keep them with you, note them down, discuss them with people and make them the basis of your performance measurement.
So, practice all of the above mentioned points or others that you consider are helpful for you on REGULAR-BASIS. Just take an initiative TODAY & make this practice your most beloved habit. You will start enjoying your calls !!
Don't forget to share your experience with Nexus54 !!

Have a Nice Calling !!

Workplace Environment and Employee Productivity ..

Majority of us spend 50% of their time in indoor environment that really influence our mental abilities, performance and thought process (Sundstrom, 1994)and most of us spend 9 to 12 hours in offices. Extensive research has been conducted in order to know what impact our workplace interior produces on our minds and consequently how does it affect the performance of an individual? The effective environment majorly includes,

  • Furniture
  • Noise
  • Ergonomically Sound Machines
  • Comfort level
  • Lightning
  • Temperature
  • Air Quality
  • Colors Selection ,etc.

The messy and congested places always produce a state of discomfort. So, is the case with extra ordinarily vacant place. The usage of colors should not only match with the personality of your brand but also it should produce an ambiance that keeps the mind of people fresh and active. Better workplace environment will boost the employee and ultimately have the positive impact on the performance.According to one survey, the productivity could be improved by 4% to 10% by improving the office environmental conditions.

According to a study conducted by the British Council for offices, an employee's workplace is responsible for as much as 24 per cent of his/ her job satisfaction level. Moreover, a well thought office design can decrease absenteeism by 15 per cent and increase productivity by between 5 per cent and 20 per cent. Yet another survey across numerous firms confirmed the constructive effect of good organization design on employee morale and productivity. Nearly half the respondents said that they would work an extra hour more per day if they are provided with better office structures.

Now, its a new challenge for the organizations to maintain their internal environments up to the mark. Businesses are investing massively on this aspect of their environment. This not only convey your corporate message to the visitor at your workplace but also influences the performance level of the employees working in.
